STATE SYSTEM FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

BUSINESS PROBLEM

With over 20 campuses and one of the most diverse student bodies in the country, this university system required analytics to increase student retention and graduation rates.

SCALESOLOGY IN ACTION

Scalesology personnel worked to predict several key student performance outcomes, including:

  1. The likelihood of students completing remediation based on attendance in experimental summer classes.

  2. Four- and six-year graduation probabilities for individual students within the academic system.

  3. The probability of various student performance outcomes based on potential program offerings.

Scalesology continues to collaborate with this State System for Higher Education to enhance, maintain, and support their application, which resides on Amazon Web Services (AWS).


RESULT

By leveraging predictive analytics, the State System for Higher Education identified students at risk of not graduating and proactively offered additional mentoring and tutoring to address potential issues before they arose. This approach has successfully increased student retention and graduation rates year over year.
